Shoot in my very part of town

Another image from a previous shoot I did. I was so lucky, this job was actually located just around the corner from me. I could even have walked there. So no traffic frustrations to get to this one! And it was a really fun and easy shoot too. Sometimes you're just lucky.

Guests for dinner

Some family friends visiting California stopped by for dinner tonight. I went with what I think is a safe bet - a Greek inspired pasta dish with chicken filet, feta cheese, fresh tomatoes, oregano and garlic. Everybody who has tried this one really seems to like it. And then a classic Swedish apple pie with custard for dessert. The guests were kind enough to leave an extra piece for me for tomorrow;)

An Ebay find

Thanks to Ebay the gorgoues Missoni for Target vase made it into my home after all. A bit more expensive than store price of course but still very reasonable. Isn't it a beautiful vase? I think it's one of the prettiest vases I've ever seen. It got an honorable spot, right next to another big favorite of mine - a basket/art piece from the 50's my mom found at an auction. And the black bottom is a book case from Kartell. I love their sleek European design and the dark makes the Missoni colors stand out even more.

LA driving (living)

All this driving, almost spending half your life in the car. That's the life of an Angelino and especially a model/actor in LA. This city is so widely spread so being able to go from place to place, you definitely need a car. No trams and buses to relay on like in Milan. Today I took myself to Beverly Hills, back to LA and then to the Valley and ended up in Santa Monica before I came back home to LA again. Auditions. They really are all over. And always on the same day. After a while you learn to save some time and be effective by doing everything in the car - change clothes between auditions, put your makeup on, eat lunch...But then there are times when it's just really enjoyable too. My favorite tune on the radio, the wind playing with my ponytail, a glance through an open window on the beautiful surrounding I'm happy to call my home. Life could be worse.

Bridal shoot

Here is a sneak peak from the Bridal shoot I did a couple of weeks ago. The dresses I wore were incredibly beautiful. There is just something special about dressing up in a bridal gown. The first time I got to, I was just 16 years old and landed a job for Vogue Sposa. I looked like an innocent little ballerina bride. This was my very first booking ever. I flew to Milan with my mom over the summer, right out of Junior High. Together we made our way all over the city to every casting I got. Looked them up on the enormous map, took a bus, a tram, tried to ask English speaking Italians for directions. Feet filled with blisters from all the walking. But we had fun! And then it paid off. My agent's voice at the other end of the phone, telling me I had booked my very first job. Of course I will always remember that.

Dear Santa..

Features metallic, laser-cut fringe. 2 zip pockets at front. Antiqued gold hardware and long shoulder strap. Tassel at drawstring closure and magnetic-snap strap at top line. Lined.

...if I've been a good girl this year, is there any chance you could get me this See by Chloe metallic laser cut calfskin bag for Christmas? I found it in W Magazine and I think it's gorgeous. Very unique looking. $499 isn't that much either, right? Or a fresh striped tee from St James would work too!

Designer Mascaras

Designer collaborations seem to be everywhere these days. And especially at Target! The classic Great Lash Maybelline mascara celebrates its 40th anniversary with limited editions from designers Max Azria (BCBG), Tracy Reese and Vivienne Tam. A pretty cute addition in the makeup bag. $7 at Target only.

Just another Monday

Chicken filet in a tasty sauce from Trader Joe's (yes I cheated a little bit..)
Had a long talk on the phone with mom and dad this morning (which I usually do on Monday's, something I'm really looking forward to), auditioned for a European eye wear company and now I just cooked a Chicken Curry dinner with rice. That's pretty much what I've done today. Even though I enjoyed all of that, I'm hoping for a bit more filled day tomorrow. But I was pretty tired from all the adventures of the weekend, so I suppose I needed some time of not doing too much. How was your first day of the week?

The Boling Crab!

This is how it comes - right in the plastic bag! A spicy corn on the cob was a great addition.
Since I simply love seafood some friends took me to the Boiling Crab in Alhambra tonight. This fun, crazy, messy Louisiana style seafood place, where you put your bib on and prepare yourself to get dirty! The crab, crayfish and shrimps or whatever you are ordering come in a plastic bag and then you just dig in, eating with bare hands without any utensils or plates. It all ends up right on the table! I tried my food cooked in the famous "shabang" sauce and it was delicious. Spicy yes, but nothing I couldn't handle. Perhaps because I took the mild version.. And then with a huge Cafe Boba on our way home, I'm beyond full right now...Who says models don't eat??

Malibu Birthday Party

Skirt from Lush and vintage top, shoes and bag.
A Southern Indian specialty - a kind of crepe filled with lamb and other goodies.
The birthday part last night was at this amazing house in Malibu, overlooking the hills and the ocean. Every time I get out of the city, it hits me how peaceful and quiet it is. A totally different world from the busy LA streets that's my home. We were treated to the best appetizers and sangria, an all night open bar and very delicious Indian cuisine. Definitely a little bit spicy for a Swede like myself, but I really enjoyed it. Thank you, birthday boys for a fantastic party!

Winners!

I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't fall back to sleep. Then I remembered, my soccer team was playing a very important and difficult game back home. So I put my robe on, went in to the kitchen, warmed some milk (that's what you're supposed to do when you can't sleep, right? Even though I never quite understood why..) and started following the game on live score on the internet. Couldn't believe it when we first got 1-0 and then 2-0! The game ended 2-1 eventually. And then very happy I went back to sleep. Of course there was no question about what mug to drink my coffee from at the traditional Saturday breakfast on the balcony this morning. A good start of a really good weekend, I hope.

Griffith Park Observatory

Can you see Hollywood? Well, if you look closely..The funny thing is it looks so much closer in real life.

I've never been before so I think it was about time, having lived in LA for quite some years now. What a nice thing to do on a beautiful day like this. And the perfect place to try out a new camera. We walked around and looked at the amazing surroundings and view over the city and sat down for a lunch at the cafe. Then a Youghurtland stop on the way home. Fridays are so much fun. The beginning of the weekend and a little teaser of what's ahead of you. Tonight - a rented movie. Tomorrow I'm invited to a birthday party in Malibu. Looking forward to it.

My Friday afternoon look:
Shades - Gucci
Top - Miu Miu
Cut offs - J & Company
Sneakers - Converse
Bag - Marc by Marc Jacobs

Cupcake anyone?

You know I'm crazy for cupcakes AND candy, so I just came home from the store with this one in my shopping bag. I couldn't resist. But I'm a bit skeptical to say the least. Even "with sprinkles" haha. America sure has the most interesting candy...

Dolce & Gabbana Kiss

I love nude lips (with smokey eyes) and I wouldn't mind some Dolce & Gabbana on mine! This one looks like just the shade I'm looking for. Perhaps I have finally found a new favorite. I've been on the hunt ever since my Estee Lauder one got discontinued years ago. It would look beautiful to bring up from your clutch too, as a little bonus. Caramel (#105) classic cream lipstick $30.00

Voila!

I baked some scones to put on my new Missoni plate and created a little tea party for myself. Yummy! Not as good as Tea Room's wonderful scones but still very good. I thought I would only have one or two but I ate so many I suppose I just turned it into my lunch too :)

Cheap but good

Two beauty products that are some of my new found favorites. The liquid eyeliner pen from Almay works just like a Sharpie. It's almost impossible not to get an even line with this one. Absolutely no smudge at all! $7.49 at drugstores. And the Pantene replenishing mask for long hair is just wonderful. I think it's really hard to find hair products that I like and that work for me. But besides from the WEN products, this one is probably the best I've ever tried. I use it instead of a conditioner after shampooing and then leave it on for about five minutes before rinsing it off. The hair gets so soft and frizz free and is supposed to resist breakage too. I don't remember the price exactly but I think it was about the same as the eyeliner.

Emmy style

I can't believe I missed the Emmy Awards this last Sunday. It just completely slipped my mind. I would have loved to see all the beautiful people enter the red carpet. Anyway, from what I have seen now afterwards, these are some of my favorite looks. The mermaid look is so gorgeous. And then there were all the ladies wearing red, the number one color of the night and also for fall. I don't wear a lot of red myself but if you can rock it, then of course it's a stand out that's hard to beat.

Buu for Target

Today I got my pretty Missoni cake server. There it was waiting for me outside the door in a big package. I love it! I'm going to bake some really cute cookies to put on it. But unfortunately that amazing Missoni vase won't be coming at all. An email from Target told me they had sold too many, more than what they had in stock, and that means I'm not getting mine :( How can they sell something they don't have?!
As a consolation, today I also received a package from Sweden, where my mom sent me another issue of my favorite Swedish magazine and these cute dish cloths with the logo of my favorite soccer team. I'm a bit scared to start using them though. But I think things should be enjoyed and not put away. Perhaps I can use one and save one..

Fancy schmancy..

Since feathers are hot for fall, there was this full page of feathered jewelry in the September issue of Glamour. So when I noticed this ring from Wilfredo Rosado, I thought "ah, how cool, let's check it out" and then I checked out the prize: $26,000, select Neiman Marcus stores. Hmm, on second thoughts, maybe not...

Sunday shoot

I just came home from a photo shoot. Working on a Sunday feels good. Makes me feel ambitious. The rest of the day will probably be a relaxing one though. (I'm already tucked in bed with a pizza!) I shot with a friend, who is an amazing photographer. I enjoy shooting with people I know. You have fun and it's laid back and we can collaborate together. I can't wait to see the photos. That is so very exciting, getting to see the end result of something you created together. In the meantime - here is one from a previous shoot we did in Joshua Tree. It was so windy and cold that day. That's of course all forgotten now. But the image - it's forever. I try to think that way, when having to push myself a little bit extra for a shot.

Two new favorite bars

I'm always on the hunt for good tasting, good doing bars. And these two are my new favorites right now. The Cliff Bar is brand new I think, I just saw it in the super market yesterday. Crunchy and super yummy in the white chocolate macadomia nut flavor. Tastes like a cookie! Doesn't have as much protein as the other one, but still a pretty healthy snack.

And then a Friday Night around the corner

Met a great group of people for a simple drink at a neighbour hood bar. Fun!

Leather jacket: Dolce Vita
Feather necklace: Mystique
T-shirt: Helmut Lang
Jeans: Acne
Shoes: BCBG
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Smile: Mine! :)

Party Girl

I had so much fun last night. After some amazing food at Cleo we moved on to The Sayers Club, which was such a nice spot. Intimate with a great crowd and the best live music. On our way over there I found this big R painted on the wall. R for Rebecka!  And of course I had to stop and model next to it. A bit dark and blurry and I lost my balance but you'll get the picture ;)

Back from the hair dresser & Girl's Night in Hollywood

I spent several hours in that dreaded hair salon chair today again. Yesterdays canceled appointment happened today instead. It's a little bit darker than before with more low lights and more layered, I like it! Now me and my new hair will enjoy a Girl's Night out with two friends at Cleo in Hollywood.

I'm wearing:
Top - Lush
Black skinny pants - Zara
High heels - Christian Louboutin
Big silver ring - I bought it years ago in Stockholm...don't remember where
(My absolute favorite) Clutch - Marc by Marc Jacobs

Yesterday I was all over

To shoots, one for a clothing company and one wedding editorial. And a last minute callback in the valley. I even had a scheduled hair appointment, that I had to cancel. If I would have made that one too, I would have felt like super woman for real! When finally coming home, that bed looked so irresistible and I fell asleep at 7.30 before even having dinner and then slept for 12 hours until 7.30 this morning. Guess I really needed all that beauty sleep.

Kudos to Luna Park

This dessert was super delicious and I finished almost all of it. Strawberry shortcake with fresh berries and whipped cream. Yummy!

(Wearing the Theory cardigan and my new necklace)
I've been eating at Luna Park Restaurant on La Brea at a couple occasions. Yesterday evening was one of them. I have to say their way of treating their customers is one of the best, I've experienced. For a starter I ordered the crab cake yesterday. I asked the waitress though, if it was really fried because I can't eat fried food. She said it would just be very little. I thought I could handle very little so I ordered it. But when I received the food it was super fried and I could hardly eat it. She offered me to chose something else from the menu but I told her it wasn't necessary. The waitress who cleared our plates asked me too, if I didn't like my crab cake, since she could see I had hardly touched it. She then must have let the manager know, because just a moment later, he came over to our table, telling me he was sorry I didn't like the crab cake and if I wanted any other starter on the menu or anything else, a glass of wine, dessert or whatever, it would be on them. I thanked him very much and said I would think about it. I never ordered anything though, that I asked to get on the house. But when the check came, I noticed they had still removed one of the items to pay for. So sweet! I really appreciate a gesture like that and I will definitely go back soon again.

Missoni craziness

Can't wait to put my baked goods on the amazing plate. And the beautiful vase (the big one to the left) will soon find a place in my home too.
Wow, I guess I misjudged the anticipation for the Target Missoni collection a bit. At earlier Target designer collections, I don't think the interest has been that great. I figured I could just drive by the store sometime today and that would be enough. But when I woke up this morning and went in to facebook to congratulate a friend on his birthday, I saw all these posts about people already standing in line outside the store. And it wasn't even 8am yet! Luckily the Target website opened at the same time and I managed to get some really nice stuff from the home collection. The site crashed several times though, due to the heavy traffic. (Would be fun if that would ever happen to becki-la...) Around noon I went in to the West Hollywood store to see if there were some items left, that got sold out online, and that I might like. EVERYTHING was gone! I overheard a clerk saying people had been camping outside and most things were sold out withing the first 20 minutes. Crazy! So, I left the store empty handed. Or, no, I walked by the food court and got myself a ham and swiss sandwich. The only one left, actually. Suppose, all the early birds got hungry too!

Why make it more difficult?

"If nothing goes right, go left"

Someone loves me

Aren't these gorgeous?

Missoni for Target

The dishes look really cute actually!
Missoni's collection for Target hits stores tomorrow. This is their biggest designer collaboration yet. I looked at the pieces and there is definitely some nice stuff but I didn't find anything in particular that I absolutely must have. Probably because Missoni is very colorful and that's not what I usually wear. But of course I'll make a visit at my local Target and check it out. And the big collection doesn't only include clothes but also office supplies, linens, cosmetic cases, luggage, dishes and even a bike!
Have a look a find your favorite here: www.target.com

Chloe perfume necklace

I think this little fragrance pendant from Chloe is really simple and pretty. I believe it comes out sometime in September and cost $60. Would love to get one.

Told you..

..my mom makes the best cakes! This one she made for my niece's birthday party today! I just had to post and show you. Wish I could have been there to sample one of Dora's legs or so :)
