The very last ounce...

...of my Wednesday energy was used at the gym - boxing class. A pretty nice way to end a long and busy day. To release and recharge at the same time. And now - rewarding myself with dinner and some more episodes of Entourage, that hid in that red netflix envelope, sticking out from the mailbox and greeting me when coming home from the last audition of the day. How much sweeter isn't the treat when it's deserved?

Launch event for Lagerfeld for Macy's

I got a chance to look ahead at the collection, premiering tomorrow. Hors d'oeuvres, champagne... and great fashion. I found the long T-shirt with the Lagerfeld face on it, a cool black dress and the multicolored printed scarf, which I'm sure will look great with a black leather jacket. Yay!

Don't look back

I read somewhere: "There is a reason the windshield is a lot bigger than the rearview mirror. Look forward, don't look back"

At Starbucks. Coffee of course. And Jazz!

I didn't put my new cardigan on...but I left the apartment for a walk and I'm now at Starbucks drinking latte and browsing, both the web and the very busy cafe surroundings. Looks like everyone decided to go to Starbucks today. And I feel like I'm a grumpy old lady but the jazz music coming out of the speakers is soo loud I had to put napkins in my ears. I like (loud) jazz music a late Friday night at LACMA under an open sky with a glass of Chardonnay in hand. Or at a lively street corner in the French Quarter of New Orleans of course! Here at Starbucks, not so much.

Pasta salad & Entourage marathon

It's Monday evening, 7.32 pm, and I will spend this very moment with my homemade pasta salad made out of whole grain pasta, ham, cucumber, corn and a mix of sour cream, spices and mustard. The best ingredient though, will be the several episodes of Entourage!

Michael Kors designs jewelry

One of my favorite designers when it comes to casual street chic shoes, has just debuted his jewelry line. When going through the collection, this ring stood out to me. Comes in both gold and silver and costs only $55.

Two additions to the (fall) wardrobe

Sharing some recent shopping finds: A black simple, rather fitted, top from DKNY and a cardigan from Theory in a wonderful gray color. I can't wait to start wearing it as soon as it gets a little chillier. I'm actually really longing for some fall weather. Fall is cozy, don't you think? I see myself pairing it with a cute top, skinny jeans and boots, on my way to Starbucks around the corner for a warming Chai Latte.

Happy in New Orleans

I found this one on my computer while going through all the photos taken on the road trip. So many great memories. I like this picture because I look happy here, and I remember I felt happy too. It was the very last night of the trip. A two week adventure coming to an end a late evening in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Feeling both excited and at home at the same time. I was collecting Mardi Gras necklaces, a bigger smile for every new one that came my way, and just experienced that pure simple joy you get from being with loved ones.

My favorite Sprinkles

An early Saturday morning treat of cupcakes. The sun had just started to put its spell over Beverly Hills. Today I chose a Strawberry one and Coconut one. Pretty soon I must have tried them all.

Marc Jacobs predator panther clutch

I've set my eyes on this cool Marc Jacobs clutch. Comes in a dark chocolate color too, with a green eye on the panther. It's $328 but I saw it somewhere for $298. I'm crazy about handbags and have more than I can count. For nights out I'm especially fond of wearing a clutch. It's so chic and easy. I have a simple black leather Marc Jacob's clutch that I wear all the time. It could be fun to switch it up a bit. Do you think I should treat myself to another one?

Girl's Night at Terroni

I had the best time with one of my girlfriends tonight, at one of my favorite restaurants in LA. Some Italian food, really good white wine, lots of catching up about this crazy industry we're both in...and the tastiest Tiramisu I've ever had. I thought I made a yummy one but this one was something else! Mmm! I was so tired before and not feeling my best today but I'm so glad I went. Now, a bit happier and more energized, I look forward to the weekend.

Lucky pennies

My red very heavy penny pot
Do you believe in lucky coins? I do. I am very superstitious. I believe in almost everything like that. Lucky pennies, wish fountains, astrology....and I see signs in most things around me. So when I find a lonely shiny little penny lying there on the ground, I think it's meant for me to pick it up. And then it's just to wait for the luck to happen, right? I wish it was that easy! In that case I should have been super lucky by now. A couple of years ago, I bought a "penny pot" at a yard sale, to put all my pennies in. Perhaps they all lie there and cook on the big fortune that is about to come?

Not so sure about this one though...

Is that a necklace??

When I grow up I want to be a baker

I can't seem to stop baking! Here is a banana cake, that I just let out of the oven. My favorite fruit is banana so with that key ingredient, how can this simple cake not be a winner? I whip up a banana cake whenever I feel like baking and don't really know what to do make. It always works. This particular recipe is very basic with only butter, flour, baking powder, egg and sugar but you can also mix some chocolate or cinnamon into the batter. I simply love the scent of something newly baked and the feeling of contentment when opening the oven and carrying out your "masterpiece". And to sample it of course! I've inherited my baking interest from my mom. I grew up with the best baked goods you can imagine. No one had prettier birthday cakes than me and my sister. One day we will open up a cafe together and serve our best recipes all day long. That's my dream.

Sometimes my two worlds meet

Today I got reminded of home. I just returned from an audition for Tele 2 - a Swedish phone company. When I find something Swedish in my casting notice, I get particularly excited. These products are so familiar to me. To live here, far away in California, but still somehow be a part of my native country feels really good. As a little sign of not being completely forgotten perhaps. And naturally I feel that I should book this one just because I'm an authentic Swede, if nothing else;-)

I'm a WEN girl!

On set with my co-star
Someone really sweet sent me a package containing new WEN products. Thank you!<3. I'm sure you've seen those infomercials at some point, airing late at night or early mornings or during weekends. Well, I'm in that infomercial and started using the products at that time. Do you know what the best part is? That it really works! I just came out of the shower and my hair literally feels like silk. Try it for yourself! Works on ALL hair types.

Cupcake Wine

I love cupcakes so when shopping at the grocery store earlier today, this bottle caught my eye. I wonder if it will be just as tasty....and should it perhaps be paired with a red velvet cupcake?

Monday music

It's Monday afternoon and this is what I'm listening to in my bedroom while waiting to start making dinner.

Barneys New York warehouse sale!

Guess who's been to the Barneys New York warehouse sale at the Convention Center in Downtown? I found a pair of Acne Jeans and a pair of animal printed tights from Barney's own brand. Both SUPER cheap! It takes a bit of time and even more patience to dig through everything but once you do, you feel oh so pleased :)

Pasquale Shoe Repair

Pasquale Shoe Repair on San Vicente Blvd has been named the best in the world by "W Magazine" and I have to agree. I'm very very picky but haven't been able to find anything wrong with their work. So far everything I've turned in there have come out looking like new. I had a pair of favorite black Victor&Rolf pumps that I wore so much I thought they were ready to be thrown away but Pasquale fixed them with a new sole and new heels. And they also have a cozy little Italian cafe right next door, so go have a creamy cappuccino at the same time!

Heavenly (unhealthy) brunch

Swedish thin pancakes with ice cream, strawberry jam and fresh fruit. Saturday indulgence.

...and an even better cake!

Sweets loving me just treated myself to two big pieces of this apple and cinnamon sponge cake. I remember my grandma back home used to make something like this. And now I tried to. It didn't turn out quite the way hers always did. I forgot to peel the apples for one! That's so typical me. I love to bake but sometimes my thoughts are not with me while following the recipe. When I was younger and first started baking, I more than one time forgot the melted butter that I had put away on the stove and had to open the oven and throw it in afterwards! Oh well, I always enjoyed it and the taste of home baked is always something special. So was this one. Perfect or not.

A very good lunch

I had this delicious warm crab cake salad for lunch on a great cafe around the corner. Don't you too like the feeling of being satisfyingly full but not heavy "hamburger or pizza" full? :)

Outfit of the day

Jeans shorts - cutoffs J&Company
Top - Oxford Circus
Shoes - Adrienne Vittadini
Handbag - vintage Bally
Ring - Marc by Marc Jacob's
Yellow nail polish

Would you wear these?

I came across this image. A pair of barefoot stilettos back from the Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2009 runway show. Would you wear them? I think I pass...

"Me"-time in Hermosa Beach

I had an errand in the area and made sure to pack a beach bag with me as well. The sun didn't join me but two magazines and a big bag of (Swedish!) candy kept me company!

I believe in angels

I believe in angels. I have done so for as long as I can remember. To me, these beautiful creatures are comforting and inspiring. For years I have collected them in different shapes and forms. There haven't been many birthdays or Christmases without me getting at least one from family members or friends. All together I must have hundreds by now. Some of them are among my most precious items. Every room in my house has a Guardian Angel in it. But most of them are unfortunately tucked away in big boxes in my old room back home. They couldn't possibly all fly with me to LA. But it's funny, in a way I'm more surrounded by them than ever. I ended up living in "the City of Angels".

The CUTEST dog

This dog, in the Cesar dog food ads, is just the cutest thing ever. I wouldn't mind having a white little fluffy cutie like that waiting up for me!

Tasty little dumplings in Arcadia

I went to a great Taiwanese place last night with friends. It's a bit outside of LA so a little bit of a drive. But famous for their award winning dumplings and very tasty indeed, it was definitely worth it. My friend's have been talking about this place forever and finally we went together. Warm pork dumplings, different kinds of vegetables, a spicy and sour tofu soup and jasmine tea...yummy!

Pearls of perfection

Recently I came across this great product at the drugstore. It's from "Physician's Formula" and is a Multi-Colored Light Bronzer. It comes in the shape of little pearls in different brown shades. I remember using something similar years ago. First I use a very light foundation as a base and then swipe some brushes of this product as a finish. This way I think it creates a natural, warm healthy glow without looking fake tanned. Only $13.95 at the drugstore!

A busy girl goes shopping in Downtown LA

The colorful fabric stores of Downtown LA - I've always wished I could pick up some beautiful fabric and sew something pretty but since I can't I'll go shopping clothes instead!
I've had such a busy day today..two auditions - one in West Hollywood and one in Downtown. I've been on the phone so many times, I've been to the bank, the grocery store, stopped to put gas in the car and a Redbull in me, emailed with friends and I've been.....SHOPPING!! Since I've been so industrious I thought I deserved a little reward. My Downtown audition was in the heart of fashion district so after I was done I walked around among all the fabric and fashion stories. And I found so many things I liked. I'm so happy with all of them...a super cute dress, a white lace skirt, three tops and a pair of black sandals..I feel only a little bit guilty but mostly pleased! I just tried them on at home and I love them even more here in my bedroom mirror, paired with different shoes and accessories. A really good shopping experience really makes wonders for your mood. Don't you think? It may be superficial, but it's so true.
