Yummy? Well, of course. But nothing special actually...I definitely prefer Sprinkles.

I've been wanting to try them forever. I keep driving by and always get curious about this very modest looking bakery in the heart of little Ethiopia. There it is, right next to the native restaurants and thrift shops and it just looks pretty out of place. But I know it's a very famous one, the obvious choice for lots of celebrities for their birthday - and wedding cakes and the walls inside are packed with photographs and head shots of famous people praising them. So today I decided to finally come home with some freshly baked cupcakes. I bought four but actually only three made it home, one jumped in my belly the second I left the bakery...hehe.

Not even mid November yet and the entire city is ready for Christmas! In a way I like it, because I just love Christmas and everything leading up to it, but on the other hand it feels strange to start thinking about Holiday celebrations too early, especially when it's still 25 degrees outside. A lot of my Christmas shopping is already done though! How do you feel about starting the celebrations already?

So tired

It's 8.31 am and I've been awake for over two hours and I'm so very tired...not only because little guy had other plans than letting his mommy sleep last night but also because it's just been a very full week trying to do everything at once - auditions and meeting friends and doing errands and laundry and dishes and being a mom of course... My level of energy was already low coming into the weekend and this very weekend I'm alone with my little 28 inches of power..So instead of getting a hand I need to grow a set of extra. How do you do that?

Moomin

How cute isn't this Moomin body from Lindex? Someone I know will look very handsome in it! Moomin himself has already moved in with us. I want my son to get to know the beloved characters that were a part of his parents childhood.

...is having marshmallow cereal for breakfast right now. (The grown-up side, added some bananas though.)

As an American citizen I voted in my very first American Presidential election tonight!

Up to the test

Auditioning for Marlboro. I've done two ads for them in the past.

This morning I went to my first audition alone with my baby. It was kind of a big deal to me because before he was born I had in my mind that I would do this all the time, and then he came and I realized it wasn't all that easy. But at this age, he's so much easier to take places, he's getting better and better at entertaining himself and doesn't have to be in mommy's arms all the time. So it went really well, he flirted with the pretty girls and seemed to enjoy himself. And I did too. I thought I would be so stressed out having him with me, I wouldn't be able to concentrate on my audition. But when I stood there in front of the camera, holding up my name tag and doing all that casting stuff, and saw him sitting in his car seat looking at me with his big blue eyes, it reminded me that I can actually just relax. Because it really doesn't matter if I book this job or not, what really matters is right in front of me.

Weekend shopping

I didn't only stroll down the beach or play with my new iphone this weekend, but had some time to hit the stores too! I love my new black leather wallet from Badgley Mischka! But of course mommy isn't thinking just about herself...little guy got something too, a wooden rocking horse from classic Radio Flyer that we found at a yard sale. A family was moving and cleaning out their closets and garage. I can appreciate the fact that things like these aren't bought new but come with a history. Little guys and little girls have been rocking on this one before and one day it will be My little ones turn.

Santa Monica family day

I know I've been complaining about the lack of fall for a while, because I feel this summer has been a very long and very hot one. But I have to say, I feel so very lucky too, being able to have days like these ones in November(!). 28 degrees Celsius, sunny with a breeze, we went down to Santa Monica today for an outdoor lunch and a stroll at the pier. Lovely.

Healthy start

This is how I start my weekend mornings: with a homemade smoothie packed with all the good stuff I need for a fun and busy day. Sesame seeds, kefir, orange juice, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, banana, mango and a scoop of protein powder. Amen!

And then it came

My new iphone 5! Finally! After playing hide and seek with FedEx for two days and before that waiting for weeks or actually months, it ended up in my hand yesterday. Not a day too soon! My blackberry broke just after we returned from Sweden in September and all the new iphones were of course completely sold out, so poor me have been stuck with an old school cell phone from years ago. Being used to having a smartphone and then go back, it's was hard. Now I can't wait to get to know this new friend of mine. I'm sure we'll get along great!

American cookies

No cookies last long in my home..

Mini me and I continued the Halloween festivities today and baked some orange colored chocolate chip cookies. The American way that is! Which means that it was a store bought ready batter and I didn't even shape the cookies myself, just separated them and put them in the oven. It's just like putting in a pizza! Still tasty of course and your home still gets the irresistible smell of home baked cookies, this time for the unbeatable sale price of 59 cents.. :)
