Down the memory lane

Sitting here, drinking a cup of hot cocoa with whipped cream and thinking of three things - the very same ones I always start thinking about the second I pour the milk and the chocolate in the cup.

* My birthday mornings growing up. The tray filled with presents, a homemade bun and a cup of hot cocoa with whipped cream. If I was awake, lying in my bed, I might hear the sound of the electric mixer in the kitchen, knowing I was soon about to be celebrated. I almost looked forward to the chocolate just as much as opening up the gifts. One delightful sip and I instantly knew it was my birthday.

* Sleepovers at Grandma's and Grandpa's. Everything was exciting about coming to their place but the mornings might have been the best part. To sit with my sister in their cozy little kitchen in our nightgowns and eat breakfast and drink Grandma's hot cocoa that she made for us. And she made it by herself the old school way, mixing sugar with cocoa powder, and I remember we were so impressed by that :)

* Being pregnant I cut down on caffeine and instead of my regular cup of coffee in the morning I could start the day with something as yummy as this. Those 9 months were very special and this little treat brings me back to that time.

Sitting up

My son is sitting up so nicely now. Every milestone is being captured by proud parents cheering him on behind the camera lens. Mommy's little guy ❤ He'll be a year in the blink of an eye, I'm sure. Being a parent is the hardest and most wonderful thing I've ever done. Why it's hard? Because I care soo much. I want to be super mom and do everything possible I can for him. But in all of that remember to find some time to take care of mommy too.

Mom on the go

I  love bringing my baby and taking him with me to whatever is in store for the day. Some shopping maybe or coffee with a friend. He's very social and loves being around people and get attention and take in all the new and exciting things around him. But wow, there is always so much stuff to bring.. Diaper bag - check, Toys - check, A blanket and extra sweater in case it gets cold..etc etc. Now I'm starting to get a hang of it though and things run smoothly but in the beginning it felt like such a project every time :)

Michael Kors beauty

I have to show this lovely bracelet from Michael Kors that I just received as a gift. I'm crazy about it. Looks good with just everything.

Snow vs palm trees

An image from my daily walk with the stroller.

I did enjoy some weeks in the snow and getting a white Christmas really adds a lot to the Christmas spirit but I have to say I'm now pretty happy to be back to this: 25 degrees Celsius and big palm trees chasing the sky.

A year has passed, a new one has entered

Ta da!

Jet lagged an tired and still recovering a little bit, it was a quiet New Years Eve at home for me this year. Oh, how we struggled to keep our eyes open and stay awake until 12. But we did it! Dressed in my pj:s I stood on the balcony and toasted the new year. Becoming a mom was naturally the most wonderful thing for me, so saying good bye to the fantastic year that brought me my bundle of joy was a bit bittersweet, but now I'm lucky getting to experience every new day with him by my side ❤ Hello 2013.
