Hollywood

I had an audition (for the car Fiat) in Hollywood last week. I used to go to this casting office quite often but haven't been for a while. And not in Hollywood either actually. Even though I live around the corner I don't get out there too often. Especially not to the more touristy parts of town. But since the audition brought me right there I took a walk around places where I used to hang out and it was a lot of fun to relieve the old days in a way. This time with my son in tow who was taking an afternoon nap in his stroller. Times change.. ;)

Baby shower

I'm wearing lace top from Solitaire, skinnies from Forever 21, sandals from Michael Kors and sunglasses from Chloe.

Yesterday we went to a baby shower in Santa Monica, in a park right by the water. Some friends are expecting their first baby - a boy! There was some very yummy food and of course a beautiful and excited mommy to be. We didn't stay until the very end though because my little boy woke up way to early from his nap and was very tired and grumpy. In a way it feels like yesterday I went to my own baby shower and I was expecting my little one. But also so much has happened since then and my baby boy has developed into a full blown toddler by now. The baby phase is very special but it's so wonderful to see your little one grow and interact with you more and more for every day.

About time

I had my first glass of rose for the summer last night. A friend who just moved from LA to Washington DC came back visiting and brought the bottle with him. It was nice to sit down and chat and catch up a bit after mini me had fallen asleep in his bed. What's your summer must have?

Chasing birds

Chasing birds is so much fun! In the beginning he thought the birds were little dogs but now I'm pretty sure he knows the difference. He can spend a lot of time in the park running after them. And mommy running after him... :)

The Bag

Looks kind of bluish... but is actually black

I got a new diaper bag not too long ago. And this Marc by Marc Jacobs one is so great I really regret not getting it from the beginning. It not only looks so much nicer than all the other ones I've seen but is also packed with great compartments - both inside and on the outside. Makes all the things that have a tendency to just pile up, easy to find. It would have been so convenient for those early days when you brought pretty much everything from bottles to burp cloths to tons of outfit changes. I thought I had so many other nice handbags and wouldn't need to invest in a pricey diaper bag but I didn't realize the diaper bag is pretty much the only bag you'll use! Oh well, better late than never..

How beautiful isn't nature? Like late afternoon yesterday when the big tree put its enormous shadow on the wall.

Hard to chew?

Hmm, what are we having for lunch? A mini buss or perhaps a remote control? :)

Morning Glory

I love to decorate a bathroom with flowers and lots of candles. And maybe some photographs or a pretty picture. My bathroom is a bit too small but really cozy I think.

When the first thing I see when tired tumbling in the bathroom in the morning is this gorgeous flower picked from the tree outside our house, then it's hard not to smile a little bit in all that tiredness.

Lace for summer

I love to dress in lace for summer. It's so romantic and fresh and looks even greater with a tan of course. This is my newest addition - it feels a bit old fashioned almost and it's very romantic looking so I'll probably mix it up and wear it with distressed denim and a high heel sandal.

Girls getaway

A girlfriend is looking after a friend's house while he is away so she invited a group of girls over for the weekend to enjoy his lovely house, relax by the pool, drink some wine and just catch up on batteries and girl's talk. Felt like we were in a beautiful resort somewhere - so nice!

On my May family road trip we made sure to make a stop at Paso Robles wine country. It's so beautiful there. And peaceful. And since watching Falcon Crest in the eighties I've always wanted to go to a place like that :) When visiting one of the vineyards we happened to meet the son of the owner. He was sitting on the patio, chatting and drinking wine with the customers. He was good looking, charming and had that nonchalant coolness about him that made us all think of Lance in the soap opeara. Anyway, he ended up showing us around the winery and taught us about the process of how to make wine and when we wanted to purchase a nice bottle he refused to charge us. Also this little bag of 5 simple rules for happiness that had caught my eye I received as a gift. I had put it at my bedside table and opened up the little bag and looked at it the other day. Good rules indeed. But how simple are they to follow?
