Summer around the corner

 

Apparently the summer like weather we had a couple of weeks ago will be back this weekend. Already today it's been lovely outside. We had an outdoorsy day with lots of walks and time in the park.

Time flies

At a check up at the Dr's office a couple of days ago. "Reading" a book and holding on to the little sticker he always gets after a visit :)

Time sure flies. My baby has gone from a little newborn to Mommy's big guy ❤

Birds

These blue swallows followed me and my son on our walk today. We live in an artsy neighborhood with fun street art showing up every now and then. Makes the daily walk a bit more fun!

Oh America

My better half brings me home donuts from work every now and then. And that's always a nice little surprise of course. The last one - this Krispy Kreeme donut that not only is heavily chocolate glazed but ALSO has the biggest load of chocolate mousse in the middle! This country definitely goes all in when it comes to sweets! I passed on the mousse though.. a little too much of the good stuff even for a chocolate lover like me.

I love both my Diet Coke and my Marc Jacobs so of course I wouldn't mind one of these cool cans. To celebrate the 30th anniversary campaign for Diet Coke, Marc Jacobs is designing cans symbolizing the three different decades. The first one will be the 90s and is coming out at the end of the month.

Greetings from sunny California

We're having a bit of a heat wave at the moment. It's like full on summer in February with 28 degrees Celsius. I was lying in the park this weekend and got a bit tanned even. But we better enjoy it while it lasts, because the weather forecast is saying it will be much chillier already by tomorrow.

I'm charmed

Some of these lovely rings are looking good on my fingers right now. I got the small cross and the star in silver to wear on my index fingers. They are really delicate and I like my jewelry to be barely there OR the opposite - one big chunky ring or a statement necklace. These are fun because you can wear many at the same time without it being "too much". All are from "Dogeared", an LA brand, which I think makes really cute pieces that feel personal and all with an inspirational message. Great gift ideas!

Hope you all had a lovely Valentines Day. I know it's a very commercial day, especially here in the US, but it's still a nice reminder to be thankful for the love you have in your life.

Prabal Gurung goodies

The Prabal Gurung collection for Target debuted today and showed to be a bit of a disappointment actually. What looked gorgeous on photos, looked mass produced and rather cheap in reality. And the vibrant colored stilettos that I loved online were made out of plastic man made materials....I should have guessed though, because of the inexpensive price. Some pieces still ended up in my shopping bag. These earrings are glamorous but still edgy enough to work with jeans and a top. And the fun shoes in soft fabric can be a really great accessory to a simple LBD or black paints.

Turkish delight?

I like a lot of things about Turkey. Their lovely weather and inexpensive shopping to name a few. But their wine? I'm trying the bottle I won at a music quiz at the hotel from my vacation trip with mom last winter. And my company just named it the worst he has ever tasted..hmm, maybe we should stick to raki next time? :)

All us LA-girls (and guys!) are probably all anticipating the opening of Topshop/ Topman at the Grove. And there's only a week left now. I walked by the other day and saw the final letter coming into place. So really soon we'll all be wearing the same dresses and jeans and tops for some time to come.. :) That's the bad thing about shopping at the big chains - I still remember when I came to a birthday party at a pretty small bar, spotting a girl wearing the exact same orange dress! If it at least would have been black..

Felt a bit spring like today in my colorful shirt. Now when January is gone, we're going towards lighter times soon. I'm really looking forward to bare legs in cute tiny shorts and colored toe nails in strappy sandals.  I know I was so excited about winter before but now I'm all for warmer weather again! Just not too warm..

Apparently the Nieman Marcus/Target holiday collection last December was a big fail and many of the items ended up on big discount shortly after the launch. I can see that a dog bowl by Oscar de la Renta isn't as sought after as a dress from the famous designer... but I'm very happy about the Marc Jacobs pieces I scored. Now time for a new fresh collaboration: Prabal Gurung for Target. Lots of pretty things, don't you think? Very spring like. Prices rang from $13-$200 and hit stores February 10. ELLE magazine predicts a Missoni craziness over this one. We'll see...

Colorful

Color "I need a refresh mint."

Today I'm rocking this nail polish. I noticed it at the drugstore and liked it and then sat down for a little manicure session by myself when my baby was napping in his stroller in the park. It's about being effective right :) I never spend any big money on nail polish. This is a $1.99 cheapo one. According to me the expensive ones chip just as easily. The only reason if I would by one is if I would have to have that certain color.

TGIF

I'm so happy it's Friday and another weekend is waiting for me and my family. I love when we can all be together and do something fun. Tomorrow we'll celebrate my birthday (again!) with some more family members and Sunday attend another birthday/super bowl party. But first - sweatpants, movie and popcorn: here I come!
